As the days get warmer and dryer we find ourselves venturing out more and going to explore little wild places we haven’t visited before. Sending the kids off for a few days of summer camp it on the list …but where to go and what to do?

A bit about my journey

I have moved from Kildare to Donegal this year , I am originally from Milford in Donegal but left when I was 19 year old feeling like everyone in my town knew everything about me … every teenagers nightmare!!

Now in my 40s I am delighted to be back!

Each day I see people from my childhood but now they are walking around as fully grown adults!

I wonder what is going on for them and how to connect to them but it is a difficult thing to reconnect when everyones’ lives are so busy. So here it is my call out to you the reader…who are you ? how did you end up here on my page? What are the things you enjoy? Tell me about your childhood memories of Donegal! Or perhaps you have recently moved to the area, let us know what you love about the county.

Summer Camps

My solution is summer camps! We all have to start somewhere and I have just booked in two great venues .

Its all about connecting with nature, having fun and learning new skills.
Our activities can include :
Nature Games
Wild foraging
Fire Craft
Bushcraft
Using Knots
Shelter Building
Using Tools
Chilling in the hammock
Low ropes
Building swings
Making a rope ladder
..and lots more…
Each camp is different and focuses on what the kids want
We only have 15 at each camp so everyone is included and heard
If you have any questions please send me an email naturelinkdonegal@gmail.com or pm

July 8th to 10th – Glenalla
August 3rd to 5th – Gartan

Where?

The first one is in Glenalla in Milford, I actually had never been there when I was young but it is on the Dongeal Garden Trail and the owners are into forest bathing and actually know about forest school!

The other is Gartan Outdoor Adventure Centre , it is a place I have visited many times when I was growing up. Mostly through scouts..I remember camping in a huge field…that is no longer even there! We done the ‘fiadh challange’ there and also got to stay in their excellent accommodation. Always great memories and fun times!

So now I am escaping back to nature to find my centre and do my thing…I am developing a permeant site in Milford but in the mean time id love to meet you at one of our camps.

Join Me

But you can join me now, you can book Milford here and Gartan here.

Send the kids or volunteer and book yourself in to experience forest school first hand…nature awaits!
